Getting active shouldn’t feel like something you have to do, it should be something you want to do. Urban Rec Fraser Valley leagues are the perfect opportunity to hit your movement goals in a fun way. Our goal is to provide you with the answer to the question, what MOVES you?
Urban Rec offers coed basketball leagues that play in various locations across the Fraser Valley. Games are played in 1-hour time slots once a week.
Teams are divided into different divisions where possible based on relative skill level to maximize fun and challenge! See you on the court.
Urban Rec Fraser Valley will be offering beach volleyball leagues (coed 4’s and coed 6’s- sorry, no 2’s volleyball) at our Surrey location on Sundays and Thursdays. Please note, if you register for Sundays, that means you will only play on Sundays and same goes for Thursdays.

We are pleased to announce the return of indoor volleyball! As we return, we ask that you are patient as we begin to acquire facilities and are able to get leagues up and running in various locations across the Fraser Valley.
Please note, once registration becomes available, all teams that register must be able to play in any of the time slots for that league as they may be scheduled in any of the avaialble time slots for that league as the season progresses.

One of our most popular sports year-round, our coed 7-on-7 soccer leagues are played in variety of locations around the Fraser Valley. Currently registration is open for the Surrey locations. Each league is location- and night-specific, although some locations offer leagues on more nights of the week than others. These leagues do tend to sell out quite quickly each season, so please check the registration information carefully so that you don’t miss out on the next season of play!

Urban Rec Fraser Valley is proud to offer the MaxFun Softball league – currently offered in Surrey & Chilliwack, but soon to be offered in various locations across the Fraser Valley.
The MaxFun league is a coed league with 10 players in the field requiring a minimum of 4 of each gender to a maximum of 6 of either gender if fielding a full lineup. This means teams can play with either 5 guys/5 girls, 6 guys/4 girls, or 6 girls/4 guys in the field. Teams must provide their own bases with the home team setting them up each game.

Urban Rec Fraser Valley is offering Ultimate frisbee leagues in Chilliwack this summer. In this 7-on-7 coed league, teams will play 1 or 2 games per week. Grab some teammates and get ready to lay out for that disc on the field!
Play to have fun and make new friends. Being social and getting exercise improves overall quality of life and makes you a better person (Please disregard if you're already perfect).
Play to stay active and physically fit all the while enjoying it. Urban Rec leagues are not like running on a treadmill. You aren't a hamster but wouldn't it be fun to drink out of an upside-down watering system.
Play because your professional career didn't take off and you still have competitive streak that needs to be satisfied.
(Please note: skill levels are taken into consideration so all the hyperactive jocks / jockettes are in their own league.)
Play because science says it will make you happy. Exercise makes your body release endorphins. Endorphins reduce pain and trigger positive feelings!
Play because you love the game. Speaking of love, maybe you'll meet your next significant other?

Learn MoreAs beach volleyball is an outdoor sport and it has been known to rain occasionally in the Fraser Valley, we have to let you know that ALL OF OUR BEACH LEAGUES WILL RUN RAIN OR SHINE - Only in EXCEPTIONAL weather circumstances will leagues be cancelled. On extreme weather days, your team captain will receive an email a minimum of 2 hours before your game time if your game has been cancelled. Urban Rec operates outdoor volleyball starting in mid-April and finishing up in early September. Seasons are 7-10 weeks in length (depending on location and night of play) including playoffs. The first night of play each season is a seeding night to help determine which pool a team will be initially placed in, although additional re-seeding is done during the season as warranted by Urban Rec.

Teams of 5 people face off against each other for once a week for all-out dodgeball supremacy so get ready to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge!
This coed sport will test your endurance, stamina and skill at dodging, ducking, diving and dipping. It is a great way to keep in shape and have a blast doing it. Each team must have at least 2 members of each gender on the floor at all times.
When playing in Urban Rec dodgeball you will play one 40 minute game each week on the same night each week - you just have to pick the night you want to play.

These fun, social leagues are open to all skill levels and and require that two of each gender are on the court at all times. Depending on the location, game times are generally between 6:00pm-11:00pm and teams must be able to play at any time slot between 6:00pm-11:00pm as the schedule of games will vary time slots each week. Please check your specific league information for the game times for your location.
When playing in Urban Rec indoor soccer, you will play one hour-long game on the same night each week - you just have to pick the night you want to play!
Urban Rec Indoor Coed Volleyball Leagues are played in several locations. When playing in Urban Rec indoor coed (minimum 2 of each gender on the court) volleyball, you will play on the same night each week - you just have to pick the night you want to play. All skill levels are welcome and teams will be placed into pools based on relative skill levels (not necessarily the skill level registered at). All teams must be able to play in any of the time slots due to the possibility of reseeding.
*NOTE- teams may be placed initially in any of the time slots at Urban Rec’s discretion, regardless of what level is selected by the team when registering. Teams may be scheduled in different time slots throughout the season- if this happens, a team’s start time will change. For this reason, all teams must be available to play in any of the time slots on their night of play.*

I’ve been a participant and an Event Coordinator with Urban Rec for over 8 years. I’ve met amazing new people and worked with a dynamic team of volunteers. As an Event Coordinator, it’s exciting to meet the new and returning participants each season. Being the main point of contact for my leagues, I provide a warm smile to greet the teams and get them excited to play each night. It’s great to watch teams, friendships, and even relationships grow.

Two years ago, we started a home business together as a couple. After a lot of hard work, the business is doing great and we're finally able to take some time for ourselves. We joined Urban Rec to get back into shape and maybe meet some new friends. We were blown away by the amount of amazing people we've met and how quickly rec sports (particularly softball) has become part of our weekly lifestyle.
Our Social League is just like any one of our sports leagues. It encourages interaction, fun, and social activity! But instead of scoring goals/points/downs you get to go enjoy spending time with your team off the playing field. Whether it’s a night out at a local establishment, receiving discounts on food and drink, or doing a bike tour on the local trails, we guarantee you’ll have a good time. Studies show that the more you know your team, the better the chances of you working together effectively and winning!
